SKOS (Simple Knowledge Organization System) is a text format in XML that may be used to describe concepts in a hierarchy.

SKOS may handle multiple language labels, example:

ex:asset skow:prefLabel "financial assets"@en

SKOS-XL extend SKOS, so that one can distinquish betweene, e.g., "translation of" and acronym relations.
