Mining the posterior cingulate: segregation between memory and pain components describes text mining of PubMed abstracts in neuroimaging about the brain region posterior cingulate and coordinate-based meta-analysis of the stereotaxic coordinates mentioned in scientific papers.

[edit] Data

Abstracts responding to a query posterior cingulate on human brain mapping were downloaded from PubMed.

Stereotaxic coordinates were extracted from some of the articles.

[edit] Methods

The PubMed abstracts were transformed to a document-term matrix and analyzed with non-negative matrix factorization.
