Is Wikipedia biased? is a study on opinion bias in Wikipedia examining thousands of articles on United States political topics.

[edit] Method

To assess the bias of individual article in Wikipedia the author used a "slant index" method developed by Gentzkow and Shapiro (2010): What drives media slant? Evidence from U.S. daily newspapers.

The data was from 2011-01-16 dump and obtained:

  1. 111'216 articles, by querying on "republican
  2. 70'668 articles, by filtering out articles covering non-US contries
  3. 28'382 articles, where bias measurement was possible
