Gender-common and -specific neuroanatomical basis of human anxiety-related personality traits reports a personality neuroimaging study with magnetic resonance imaging, voxel-based morphometry and a Japanese version of the Temperament and Character Inventory (TCI).

Group 1 of 183 right-handed japanese with 117 males and 66 females were included in the study. The Japanese group was from 21 up to 40 years old. The study on the human subjects was approved by the Ethical committee of the University of Tokyo Hospital.

  1. P-values are thresholded on uncorrected <0.001 and false discovery rate set to <0.05. Small volume correction was applied to hippocampus, amygdala and prefrontal cortex, — seeming family-wise error corrected across voxels.
  2. It is not clear if the coordinate in the hippocampus for reward dependence is the only coordinate in the brain for that threshold.
