Cortical control of saccades and fixation in man: A PET study describes a PET experiment where the subjects performed two forms of saccades: reflexive saccades and remembered saccades.

A group of 8 right-handed normal male volunteers with 8 males and 0 females were included in the study. The English group was from 22 up to 36 years old. The study on the human subjects was approved by the Hammersmith Hospital Ethics Committee. The study was performed at the Hammersmith Hospital, so the subjects are probably English.

Using the radiotracer Oxygen-15-Carbon dioxide PET scans were acquired with a CTI ECAT 931-08/12 at Hammersmith Hospital.


[edit] Results

There were 3 conditions and they resulted in 6 comparisons. The PET was fitted to the Talairach atlas with SPM. Statistical threshold was set at P<0.001 in "omnibus sense".
