Anatomical variability of the anterior cingulate gyrus and basic dimensions of human personality reports a magnetic resonance imaging study on the morphology of the cingulate gyrus of 100 healthy human subjects and its relationship to personality as measured with the Spanish version of the Temperament and Character Inventory (TCI) version 9.

The largest partial correlation betwen adjusted brain volume for cingulate areas and personality dimension where between right anterior cingulate gyrus and harm avoidance and between the right posterior cingulate region and novelty seeking.

MRI Scanning (help)
Mode: aMRI
Scanner: GE Medical Systems Signa 1.5T
Type: 3-D spoiled gradient recalled

(TR=40ms, TE=4ms, FA=30°)

Slices: 60 (thickness=2.5mm ) oriented Sagittal
Size: FOV=260mm matrix=256x192
Laboratory: missing laboratory

For aMRI 3-D spoiled gradient recalled scans were acquired with a 1.5T GE Medical Systems Signa.

The slice thickness varied between 2.4 mm and 2.5 mm according to brain size.
