He is the Editor-in-chief of Webology (journal), an international open access journal. He is a university scholar and received his Ph.D. from the Department of Information Science at the University of Paul Cezanne in Marseille, France. He also received his B.A. and M.A. degrees in Library and Information Science in 1998 and 2001 respectively. He is an independent information consultant, specializing in cataloging, indexing, thesaurus design and construction. His research interests include the World Wide Web, information consulting, information marketing, information and competitive intelligence, knowledge organization (metadata, indexing, cataloging, and classification), open access (OA), scientometrics.
