An area found in some schemes usually referred to as VIP: Posterior parietal visual cortex. In the macaque 'along the fundus of the intraparietal sulcus' where it lies next to the LIP area. The VIP* of Ungeleider corresponds to LIPv in other schemes rather than VIP according to Van Essen.
