An area on medial aspect of the prefrontal cortex. According to NeuroNames after Zilles (1990) it consists of anterior cingulate Brodmann areas 32 and 24. However, others would not incorporate the anterior cingulate in the 'prefrontal cortex'. Thus the use of 'medial prefrontal cortex' might differ.
